When we travel, we normally bring a lot of stuff. That approach wasn't going to work for this trip.
I think that the folks over at OneBag have got it right. I don't want to check anything on my trip. I want my stuff in my control and I want the customs official to look at me and think I can't possibly have any room for anything contraband. I want to breeze through while others are trying to shove suitcases the size of an upright piano into a cinquecento. So, DaraDee and I looked at the luggage examples at OneBag and she found one that was nearly the same thing for less than half the price!
OneBag recommends the MEI "Voyageur". I subscribe to their ideas and I was ready to shell out $136 per bag. But, my wife found the eBags Weekender Convertibleon eBags, the description is nearly identical to the one described on OneBag, and at just over $50 each, this was a bargain.
Determined to try out the OneBag approach, I had a business trip to Mexico City. I had to wear suits and ties each day, and I was going to be there for five days! Everything Fit! Three suits, an extra pair of shoes, five dress shirts, toiletries, daily changes of underclothes (with undershirt) and five ties. I even had space to bring small gifts home for my children.
We'll be doing the OneBag thing on this trip.
